Why can't I be with my kids AND have a job?

I sit here tonight in my studio recording what will be my last tracked show for a company I have worked with for over a decade, I'm sad about it. Actually I'm pissed about it, but that's for another day.

I work in radio and am lucky that for the last 4ish years I've been able to work from home and be with my babies. This week that came to an end and I had to start looking for a new job, I haven't done that in 10 years...10, count em, 10 years.

It's pretty hard to tell a potential employer that I want to work here BUT here are the hours I can work because my kids come first, even friends have said "It's time to put the kids in daycare and get a real career"....excuse me what? First, I went to school for radio...actually have a diploma in Broadcasting so I have a real career thanks, and secondly I worked damn hard for those babies so why can't both things collide?*

I fear the answer is no because not many families can afford the "stay at home mom" role...so what does Momma gotta do?

Hustle!

There are few to none stay at home Moms I know without a "gig" on the side...craft sales, direct sales, website development, you name it we do it just to be home. I would stay awake 24hrs a day if I had to, problem is, my skills are limited to having a huge ego.

I don't even know where to start, but I have to start somewhere, fast...so buy my tea, facebook.com/teawithtosh OR get me to voice your commercial facebook.com/monctonsbestmornings

And yes that says Monctons Best Mornings because it was.....

*if I want them to that is....I am in no way doggin Moms that work out of the house!
